Hours: 2 hours per week
Rate of Pay: £13.09 per hour. Holidays are 5.6 weeks per year, pro-rata.
Area: Ashington, Northumberland
To support access to community activities and occasional health appointments.
We are looking to recruit a support worker/enabler to assist a young adult in accessing the community with various activities.
Support Hours: 2 hours per week – this can be negotiated at various times. The candidate should enjoy walks in the countryside or quiet places, as well as activities like escape rooms.
Main Duties:
1. Support to access the community, out and about.
2. Support to become more active.
3. Support for occasional healthcare appointments, including understanding discussions and outcomes.
Person Specification:
Successful applicants must:
1. Have some understanding of how health can impact mental health and well-being.
2. Understand anxiety and its effects.
3. Be able to take small steps to develop a relationship.
4. Must: hold a full UK driving licence.
5. Female applicants only.
Additional Requirements:
An Enhanced DBS Check is required for this position; costs will be covered by Northumberland County Council.
There is a genuine occupational requirement for the holder of this post to be female in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9 paragraphs 1–4.
