Global Electrical Engineering Manager
In this position, you will be responsible for managing the safety and compliance of all electrical systems and infrastructure for the global HALEON sites. This includes design, selection, maintenance, and operation of both high and low voltage systems. You will focus specifically on electrical infrastructure, providing expert knowledge in the fields of electrical power, infrastructure, instrumentation, and control.
As a member of the above-site specialist network for electrical compliance and safety, you will develop relationships with experts across the business. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Provide leadership and deep technical expertise on the development and implementation of electrical safety policies (HALEON and contractors).
2. Review, Maintain and Improve an organisation of competent persons who will be responsible for application of the electrical safety across the company.
3. Ensure electrical safety throughout the asset lifecycle (design & installation to decommissioning).
4. Monitor Haleon’s compliance with electrical legislation, standards, and relevant good practice.
5. Provide an Intelligent Customer interface with Haleon’s Regulators at a corporate level.
6. Ensure a compliant and suitable electrical asset management strategy is in place; congruent with delivering a safe, reliable, and resilient electrical supply to our manufacturing operations.
7. Lead the global Electrical Engineering Community of Practice (CoP).
8. Provide proactive and reactive technical support and oversight to audits and incident investigations.
9. Providing expert services in the field of electrical power, instrumentation and control.
10. Advising on the application of best practice techniques to improve electrical performance and energy management.
11. Leading electrical infrastructure lifecycle and global obsolescence strategy.
12. Working collaboratively with sites to assure appropriate electrical standards are included in packaged equipment specifications.
13. Support the business’ Sustainability strategy and Net Zero Carbon objectives.
Why you?
Required Qualifications and experience:
14. Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering
15. Chartered Engineer status
16. 5+ years’ experience of leading Electrical Engineering on a Manufacturing Site
17. 10+ years’ experience of Electrical Infrastructure, both HV & LV.
18. Understanding of selection and maintenance of electrical equipment in hazardous areas
19. Experience in switching high voltage equipment accompanied by a recognised switching and operations qualification.
20. Energy Management experience.
Preferred Skills:
21. Experience in a related industry such as FMCG, FMCH, Pharma
22. High voltage Authorized Person
23. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations BS7671-2008 (C&G 2382)
24. Electrical Inspection and Testing (C&G 2391)
25. NEBOSH General Certificate or recognised Health & Safety qualification
