Who we are:

ACS is a small, non-maintained specialist school, looking after children from the age of 6 years old through to 16 years old (Key Stage 1-4). We specialise in delivering support for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) diagnosed with Social, Emotional, and/or Mental Health Difficulties (SEMH) and associated complex needs such as ASC, ADHD and MLD.

About the Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring, and motivational teacher, trained in primary education, to join an already outstanding team. We utilise a THRIVE-based, personalised approach to nurture and support our learners.

Key Responsibilities:

* Delivering high-quality, personalised teaching, aligned with our ACS curriculum.

* Fostering a supportive and structured learning environment.

* Adapting teaching approaches to engage pupils with SEMH needs effectively.

* Collaborating with colleagues and support staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience.

* Contributing to the ongoing development and evolution of the school's curriculum and teaching practices.

* Maintaining clear communication with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and well-being.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in delivering primary education.

* Experience, or strong interest in, working with pupils with SEMH and/or neurodiverse profiles.

* Ability to create engaging lesson plans that cater to different learning styles.

* Comfortable and proficient with online teaching platforms and digital tools.

* Strong classroom management skills.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* A sense of fun.

You share the same values as us:

* You are passionate about teaching and making a positive impact to the lives of pupils.

* You have the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents.

* You are resilient, patient, and adaptable in a dynamic educational environment.

* You are a life-long learner, committed to personal and professional development.

* You feel excited about contributing to a collaborative and evolving curriculum.

* You value educating others and, in turn, want to be part of positive community where every member is valued.

Visits to the school are strongly encouraged and welcomed. Please contact Charlotte Reid (Director and Human Resources) for further information: email

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
