An exciting opportunity has arisen within the North West Ventilation Unit for a Band 7 Ward Manager. This is a permanent post within a highly specialised department at Wythenshawe hospital.
Main duties of the job
The North West Ventilation Unit is a tertiary referral centre for long‑term ventilation and cough augmentation therapy, based at Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester. The Unit provides care for patients requiring long‑term ventilation (non‑invasive and tracheostomy invasive) to patients across the North West region, who have a diagnosis of neuromuscular, chronic respiratory, obesity and chest wall related breathing disorders.
As a ward manager you will be required to promote quality safe care through quality improvement projects, research and audit. You are expected to be visible and credible and lead by example.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience in the field of non‑invasive ventilation and tracheostomy care/management. Management experience is also desirable.

Qualifications
* Registered Practitioner on relevant part of professional register (RGN)
* Teaching qualification
* Educated to diploma level
* Evidence of level 3 studies
* Qualified in speciality Graduate
Experience
* Substantial experience at Band 6 Grade in acute hospital setting.
* Evidence of good organisational and planning skills
* Recent evidence of continuing professional and personal development
* Implementation of audit / research
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
* Experience of change management
* Teaching or Lecturing internal or external venues
