Head of Operations - Integrated Facilities Management Mitie | National role Mitie is seeking an experienced and driven Head of Operations to lead delivery across a high-profile national portfolio. This is a critical leadership role, acting as deputy to the Account Director, where you will take ownership of operational performance, strengthen senior client relationships, and drive meaningful improvement across a complex, multi-site IFM contract. This is not a maintenance role - it's an opportunity for a proven leader to step into a visible, high-impact environment and make a difference.
Responsibilities
Leading national IFM delivery across hard services (M&E, fabric) and soft services (cleaning, catering, workplace services, front-of-house)
Driving consistent performance against KPIs, SLAs, and contractual obligations
Leading, developing, and inspiring a team of senior operational leaders
Strengthening client confidence and stakeholder relationships at a senior level
Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and service innovation
Supporting the delivery of the Account Plan and wider strategic objectives
Ensuring full compliance across HSE, statutory, and contractual requirements
Leading performance reviews, reporting, and operational governance
Qualifications – Experience
Senior-level experience in Integrated Facilities Management (IFM)
Proven track record delivering multi-site, national portfolios
Strong experience across both hard and soft FM services
Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers, and complex delivery models
Leadership
Experience leading senior managers within multi-layered teams
Track record of transformation, stabilisation, or culture change
Ability to operate as a trusted number two with progression to Account Director
Client Engagement
Highly credible, confident, and visible with senior stakeholders
Strong relationship builder with the ability to influence and rebuild trust
Commercially aware and solutions-focused
Technical & Operational
Strong understanding of compliance, H&S, and statutory FM requirements
Commercially astute, with experience in budgets, reporting, and performance management
