The Workshop Foreman/woman is responsible for the smooth running of the Workshop, alongside being a productive member of the workshop team. Overseeing the Technician team, ensuring key performance indicators are achieved, whilst maintaining positive relationships with our customers.

What does the role involve?
Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on all makes of vehicles and trailers to VOSA standard
Diagnose and rectify all types of faults
Oversee workshop team, including monitoring timekeeping and productivity, authorising overtime, and identifying training needs
Establish a positive working relationship with all branch departments and other branches
Achieve and strive to exceed customer service level expectations and agreements
Deal with queries in an effective manner, ensuring all actions are met
Assist in training and development programs for staff
Maximise the profitability of both parts and service departments, including continual improvements in utilisation of staff and efficiency levels
Lead and motivate the team
Access, produce and follow up all quotations for all types of equipment
Remain up to date with all relevant legal requirements
Ensure company vehicles are maintained to the required standard
Any other duties relevant to the smooth and efficient operation of the department as determined by your manager
What are we looking for in a candidate?
Technical Qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ Qualified Technician) or proven experience repairing & maintaining vehicles
Current driving licence
Autoline 8.35 use
Own tools and toolbox
Supervisory or management experience
LGV/HGV licence is preferable, but not essential
Ability to work within a team
Excellent organisation and analytical skills
Ability to work within guidelines and to deadlines
Solution driven approach
Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety requirements
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
Detail orientated
