Temporary Head of Housing (Hybrid – South West Scotland) Rate: £35–£45 per hour (Depending on Experience) Location: South West Scotland (1 day in office, 4 days remote) Duration: 4–6 months (Temporary Contract, with potential to become permanent) Hours: Full-time (Monday–Friday) About the Role A respected housing association in the South West of Scotland is seeking an experienced and proactive Temporary Head of Housing to lead its housing operations during a key transitional period. This flexible, hybrid role requires only one day per week in the office, with the remainder of the week remote. The initial contract is for 4–6 months, however, there is potential for the role to become permanent for the right candidate. You’ll take a lead role in the strategic and operational delivery of housing management services, ensuring high standards in tenancy management, income collection, community engagement, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities Lead and support the housing operations team to deliver effective and customer-focused services Oversee key areas including tenancy management, allocations, arrears recovery, and anti-social behaviour Ensure compliance with all relevant housing legislation and regulatory standards in Scotland Contribute to strategic planning and the delivery of organisational objectives Drive continuous improvement and performance across all housing functions Build and maintain strong relationships with tenants, local authorities, and external partners About You Substantial leadership experience in social housing or a closely related sector Strong working knowledge of Scottish housing legislation, policy, and regulatory frameworks Demonstrable ability to lead and motivate teams through periods of change Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills Comfortable with a hybrid working model (1 day in-office, 4 days remote) Available for a 4–6 month contract, with interest in a potential permanent role What’s on Offer Competitive hourly rate of £35–£45 (DOE) Hybrid working – only 1 day per week required in the office A senior leadership role with real impact on local communities Potential for the role to become permanent Opportunity to lead a high-performing team within a well-regarded housing association To Apply: Please submit your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience and availability.
