SEMH Learning Support Assistant, Haywards Heath
Rate: £90–£110/day
Contract: Long-term supply/Potential to go Permanent (term-by-term)
Location: Haywards Heath (and surrounding)
Responsibilities:
* Support pupils with emotional and behavioural challenges to access learning
* Use restorative practice to build trust, de-escalate conflict, and support self-regulation
* Work one-on-one and in small groups to deliver SEMH interventions
* Assist with bespoke social, emotional, and mental health programmes
* Help coordinate communication between staff, parents, and external agencies
* Contribute to risk assessments and behaviour support plans
* Track and document pupil progress, behaviour incidents, and interventions
Requirements / Advantages:
* Child-Only Enhanced DBS essential
* Driving licence strongly preferred (significantly increases placement options)
* Experience or training in SEMH, mentoring, youth work, or counselling is desirable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
