I am recruiting on behalf of a prominent Leeds based university for an experienced Dean to lead one of their academic faculties on a full time temporary basis. This senior leadership role will involve providing strategic direction, overseeing academic standards, and supporting both staff and student success within the faculty.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide academic and operational leadership for the faculty, ensuring alignment with university strategy and objectives
* Oversee curriculum development, quality assurance, and teaching standards across all programmes
* Support, mentor, and manage academic and administrative staff
* Promote research, innovation, and collaboration within the faculty
* Represent the faculty at university committees, external meetings, and stakeholder engagements
* Ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards within higher education
Requirements
* Significant senior leadership experience within higher education, preferably at faculty or departmental level
* Strong track record in academic management, curriculum oversight, and quality assurance
* Relevant degree-level qualification, with postgraduate or professional experience highly desirable
* Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills
* Ability to inspire, motivate, and lead teams in a dynamic academic environment
