SEMH Behaviour Support Assistant

We are recruiting a full-time SEMH Behaviour Support Assistant to work within specialist education settings across North Tyneside and Newcastle upon Tyne, supporting learners with social, emotional and mental health needs, including those who may present with challenging behaviour.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone from a behaviour support, care, youth work or psychology background who is looking to build a long-term career in education or mental health.

Your role will include
• Supporting learners with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour • Implementing behaviour strategies and maintaining clear boundaries • Providing 1:1 mentoring and consistent support • Supporting de-escalation and emotional regulation • Encouraging engagement in learning and positive routines
We’re looking for someone who
• Has experience working with behaviour or vulnerable individuals • Remains calm, resilient and confident in challenging situations • Communicates clearly and builds strong relationships • Is passionate about supporting learners with SEMH needs
