Keoghs are seeking a Complex Injury Paralegal to join our team in Birmingham. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in large loss and complex personal injury work, assisting a Partner on high-value, complex cases. You will undertake various file handling tasks to support our team, with supervision and feedback to develop your skills in this area.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting the progression of each claim from receipt to resolution
* Preparing court documents, filing, serving, and diarising court orders and hearing dates
* Liaising with experts, counsel, insureds, and witnesses regarding case matters
* Managing court communications and case management system updates
* Arranging medical appointments, reviewing medical records, and drafting summaries
* Handling photographic evidence, surveillance footage, and document redaction
* Responding to queries from involved parties and conducting legal research
* Ensuring compliance with SRA rules and regulations
As your competency increases, tasks will include preparing instructions to counsel, liaising with parties to obtain evidence, drafting updates and complex court documents, attending client meetings, and reviewing evidence.
Qualifications and Skills
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs grades 5 or above, or A-C, with an interest in law through further education or experience
* Understanding of the litigation process, preferably in a file handling role
* Strong communication skills and ability to organize tasks effectively
* Calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and IT literate
* Team player with flexibility and a client-focused approach
