Area Sales Manager – Ophthalmology Northern Ireland Field-based About the Company An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Area Sales Manager to take ownership of a high-potential Northern Ireland territory within a well-established and growing ophthalmology portfolio. This role offers the chance to work with market leading products across Dry Eye, Glaucoma and Eye Health, within a supportive, high-performing sales environment that genuinely values its people. About the Role You will be responsible for driving growth across the territory by developing strong, long-term relationships with key customers across secondary care, pharmacy and key accounts. This is a true account management role, requiring strong planning, commercial focus and customer insight. Responsibilities Achieving and exceeding sales targets across the territory Managing and developing key accounts, including stakeholder mapping and account planning Gaining and maintaining formulary and protocol inclusion Promoting a portfolio of ophthalmology products to medical, surgical and pharmacy customers Identifying new business opportunities and driving sustainable growth Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders Qualifications Essential: ABPI qualified Proven pharmaceutical sales experience (ideally 5 years) Strong account management and relationship-building skills Experience influencing NHS and private sector stakeholders Track record of achieving sales targets Strong planning, analytical and organisational skills Full UK driving licence Desirable: Experience in ophthalmology or a related therapy area Understanding of hospital procurement and reimbursement processes Degree educated or equivalent Required Skills ABPI qualified Proven pharmaceutical sales experience (ideally 5 years) Strong account management and relationship-building skills Experience influencing NHS and private sector stakeholders Track record of achieving sales targets Strong planning, analytical and organisational skills Full UK driving licence Preferred Skills Experience in ophthalmology or a related therapy area Understanding of hospital procurement and reimbursement processes Degree educated or equivalent Pay range and compensation package 25 days annual leave plus statutory bank holidays Option to buy up to 5 additional days’ holiday Performance-related bonus Company car or car allowance Healthcare scheme Equal Opportunity Statement We are committed to diversity and inclusivity.
