About the Role
The Theatre Practitioner will provide patient-centered care throughout the surgical pathway, from pre-admission to post-operative management. Responsibilities include preoperative assessments, diagnostics, and assisting in theatre under AfPP guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
* Support and comfort patients, families, and friends
* Prepare clinical areas for procedures
* Assist surgeons in ophthalmic care
* Manage patient admission and discharge
* Demonstrate enthusiasm for learning and delivering quality care
* Maintain effective communication and interpersonal skills
* Work effectively within a team
Candidate Requirements
* Previous ophthalmic theatre experience
* Relevant professional development, with certification (RN with NMC registration or ODP with HCPC registration)
* Current knowledge in ophthalmic practice
* Proficiency with PC software and systems
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Commitment to patient safety and high-quality care
