Responsibilities
* Land referencing activities, including online land registry (HMLR) searches, desktop research and other sources to identify legal land interests and rights.
* Accurate data entry and management of land and landowner information and consultation records in databases and GIS according to GDPR.
* Support Land Team in site visits to landowners to confirm land and land ownership details, agree access for surveys, install and monitor site notices as part of the consents process.
* Support Land Team in the production and issue of documentation to landowners as part of the consents process.
* Support Land Team in securing and acquiring appropriate land rights such as wayleaves and Heads of Terms agreements.
* Support Land Team in preparation of orders and relevant statutory processes to acquire land and land rights.
* Attend and contribute to internal project meetings.
* Supervise small groups of Junior Land Consultants.
Qualifications
* A degree in geography or another relevant discipline, which has provided you with an understanding of the complexities of land‑use and/or land‑ownership in the UK.
* Experience of working with databases and managing information with excellent attention to detail.
* Experience of working with mapping and knowledge of GIS.
* Experience of landowner engagement or working with members of the public.
* Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with colleagues and landowners.
* Ability to communicate effectively.
* Knowledge of the rural environment and farming practices would be desirable.
* Ability to travel to site and/or client offices/remote locations.
