Manager, Java Developer
Location
Glasgow, UK.
Responsibilities
* Lead the development and enhancement of FRPPE systems ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability within the Treasury Technology domain.
* Collaborate with Treasury and Finance stakeholders, as well as cross‑functional teams, to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
* Mentor and guide a team of developers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
* Drive technical strategy and architecture decisions in alignment with Treasury business goals.
* Integrate advanced tools and technologies including Java, Scala, Axiom, Python, and GenAI as an add‑on to enhance capabilities.
* Ensure adherence to best practices in coding, testing, and deployment, maintaining high standards of quality.
* Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
* Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
* Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications / Skills
* 8‑12 years of experience in software development within the investment banking or financial services industry, specifically in Treasury or related areas.
* Strong expertise in Java, full‑stack development, and Spark Scala.
* Experience in Axiom is an add‑on preferred skill.
* Hands‑on experience with Axiom for risk and finance calculations.
* Proficiency in Python programming for automation, data analysis, or system integration.
* Experience with Generative AI technologies and their application in financial systems is highly desirable.
* Solid understanding of Treasury products, risk management, and pricing engines.
* Proven experience in leading technical teams and managing complex projects.
