YOUR ROLE
As a Service Designer, you will join the growing Digital Excellence community and champion inclusive design practices throughout our project lifecycles. You will engage with diverse user research, apply accessibility guidelines and advocate for inclusive design principles in deliverables.
Working at Capgemini Invent offers opportunities to develop and grow while working with major clients in public and private sectors. Offices are located in London, Manchester and Glasgow. A hybrid working model is offered and project assignments may require travel to client locations.
As a Service Designer you will
* Maximise the value we deliver for our clients from inception to real‑life application of Service Design.
* Support our clients through the end‑to‑end service design process to design and develop innovative products and services, from ideation to solution build and testing.
* Champion user‑centricity, employing a set of tools and methods to embed design thinking and user‑centricity.
* Collaborate with solution teams to design and develop innovative products and services.
* Use current and emerging trends to identify and lead improvements to existing services, introducing innovative service experiences that influence service managers, user researchers, UI/UX designers and programme directors.
Role
In addition to core responsibilities, you will contribute to business and personal growth through activities across categories:
* Business Development – leading/contributing to proposals, RFPs, bids, client pitches and hosting at events.
* Internal contribution – campaign development, whitepapers, practice development and offering development.
* Learning & development – training, certifications and skills development.
YOUR PROFILE
* Proven experience working across a service design process, autonomously with minimal support.
* Experience with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and principles.
* Ability to create artefacts such as user journeys, personas, service concepts and blueprints.
* Ability to identify accessibility barriers for complex user groups.
* Client readiness, with facilitation experience of workshops, sprints and ideation sessions.
* Ability to visualise complex services for diverse audiences.
* A curious, inquisitive mindset and passion for asking ‘why’.
* Strong storytelling and problem‑breaking skills in fast‑paced environments.
* Experience in agile (scrum) cross‑functional teams with researchers, designers, analysts, owners and developers.
* Prioritisation skills within tight timeframes and proactive mindset.
* Stakeholder management and balancing competing views.
* Advocacy for user‑centricity, ability to translate user stories and propose user‑focused services.
* Security Check (SC) clearance eligibility or willingness to obtain clearance.
