Broadacres Housing Association are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Disability Support Worker to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing support to individuals with learning disabilities, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to live independently and participate fully in their communities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to individuals with learning disabilities
- Assist individuals with daily living tasks, such as meal preparation, household chores, and prompt with personal hygiene
- Develop and implement individualized support plans to meet the unique needs and goals of each customer
- Support individuals in accessing community resources and services, such as healthcare, education, and recreation
- Facilitate skill-building activities to enhance independence and self-confidence
- Document client progress and report any concerns or changes in behaviour to supervisor
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including social workers, therapists, and healthcare providers
Qualifications:
- A relevant Level 2 qualification
- Previous experience working with individuals with learning disabilities in a support or care setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
