We are looking for an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our Civil Engineering division on an exciting new marine development in Belfast, valued in excess of £85 million.
We’re looking for someone with excellent commercial acumen and a proven track record delivering commercially sound civil engineering schemes. You will be responsible for detailed cost control and recovery of value on the project, maintaining excellent relationships with our supply chain and subcontractors on site, as well as mentoring junior staff.
GRAHAM values a collaborative approach, so we’re seeking a real team player.
MRICS/MCICES accreditation would be advantageous but not essential. A degree or equivalent would also be highly desirable.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in a similar position with a main contractor.
Typical duties include:
1. Establishing the project budget, including the allocation of cost codes for accurate reporting.
2. Reviewing main contract and subcontract terms and conditions, including stepping down conditions from main contract to subcontract.
3. Procurement of subcontract packages and tender documentation.
4. Reporting on costs to date and forecasting costs to completion.
5. Administering main contracts and subcontracts, including handling delays and related claims.
6. Liaising with the Employer's team to progress the project's commercial aspects.
7. Managing staff resources to ensure effective cost control.
8. Conducting delay analysis and preparing narratives for claims.
9. Handling subcontract issues as they arise.
10. Ensuring variations and compensation events are correctly followed for commercial protection.
11. Forecasting cash flow and compiling budgets.
12. Coordinating with procurement on allowances.
13. Attending progress and commercial meetings, representing the company.
