An exciting opportunity to join Birchwood Medical Practice as an Apprentice Admin Assistant. The successful applicant will undertake a wide variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the surgery and prepare for future employment.

* Support the Nursing team with administrative tasks
* Scanning incoming mail, circulating as appropriate, and adding information to patient records
* Maintaining the filing and administrative systems
* Support the rest of the administration team

Job responsibilities
The successful applicant will work as a key member of our staff on a variety of administrative tasks. The role requires teamwork, discipline, and motivation, with the opportunity to work independently after training. This role provides experience in all non-managerial administrative tasks within a surgery. Duties include:
* Providing general administrative support for the Practice
* Supporting the Nursing team with administrative tasks
* Scanning incoming mail, circulating as appropriate, and adding information to patient records
* Maintaining filing and administrative systems
* Supporting the administration team
Providing courteous and efficient reception services to patients, carers, and visitors, ensuring:
* Timely access to primary care services
* Visitors sign in/out, and staff are informed of their arrival
* Queries are answered or directed appropriately
Assisting the clinical and leadership teams with tasks such as:
* Updating patient records using System-One
* Taking action as requested by Doctors and nurses
* Calling patients to arrange/rearrange appointments or confirm test results
* Supporting coordinated multidisciplinary services through good communication
Performing any other duties as requested by Partners, Managers, or Team Leaders.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Good general education with Mathematics and English GCSE grade C or above, or predicted grade, or equivalent
* Willing to undertake and complete a Level 3 Apprenticeship within 18 months

Salary depending on experience: £7.55 - £12.21 per hour, based on age and experience.
