REMEDIAL CONSTRUCTION LABORER
TANK SERVICES
A Remedial Construction Laborer in the Tank Services group is responsible for learning and performing various aspects of field work related to soil excavation/removal; remediation systems installation; demolition; clean construction. Includes site grading; site capping; underground storage tank (UST) removals, emergency response; and chemical mixing operations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
* Support Equipment Operators with field project execution
* Assist with petroleum tank, piping, and electrical conduit installation, soil excavation, drum handling, saw cutting, concrete work, and heavy lifting
* Learn and operate various construction equipment, including skid steer loaders, mini-excavators, mechanical pipe threaders, and power tools
* Gain experience with additional equipment such as air monitoring devices, concrete saws, jackhammers, pressure washers, cutting torches, welding tools, compressors, forklifts, and excavators
* Load trucks and prepare materials for job sites
* Travel to and from project locations
* Ensure utility locations are properly marked before starting work
* Maintain accurate daily records of work hours, billing, and expenses
* Adhere to all safety protocols and industry standards, prioritizing jobsite safety while proactively identifying hazards and promptly reporting incidents or near misses
* Wear appropriate PPE, including Level C PPE with a respirator when required
* Deliver excellent customer service by maintaining a personable, respectful, and helpful attitude toward clients
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Recommended Experience: Looking for entry-level or experienced candidates. Some construction labor experience .
Certifications: OSHA Hazwoper (40 hour) certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
* Travel up to 100% and work 8+ hours per day, up to 6 days a week in various outdoor conditions
* Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting 50+ lbs, climbing ladders, and working in confined space
JOB CONTEXT
100% field/site visit travel (environmental job hazards)
This classification requires travel to various client locations. Travel typically involves day trips within the state, neighboring states, or across the country, resulting in longer workdays; and may include extended and/or further travel, resulting in multiple days and overnights. Long-distance travel and air travel may be required. Shift work and holiday work may be required on an as needed and sometimes on an ongoing basis.
