About the job
This is a high-impact role for a motivated engineer to maintain and secure multi-classification, virtualised collaboration environments. You will be at the heart of the "Secure by Design" philosophy, managing public cloud SaaS offerings like Office 365 alongside complex private and hybrid cloud project systems. This isn't just a "business as usual" role; you will be triaging security alerts, performing deep-dive incident assessments, and evolving infrastructure through automation and research to ensure total operational agility for the UK's defence infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain, improve, and secure multi-classification virtualised and development environments.
* Improve ‘Secure by Design’ capabilities across internal and project-based systems.
* Support public cloud (O365) and hybrid cloud lifecycles.
* Perform infrastructure maintenance through strict change control and triage monitoring alerts.
* Ensure all platforms are patched in line with security policies and provider recommendations.
* Identify trends and problems to plan changes that improve stability and performance.
* Advise customers and project teams on infrastructure design and support aspects.
* Develop personal knowledge toward vocational certifications in relevant vendors.
