About the young person and the Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) role

This advert is for a specific placement we will offer the successful candidate. This advert being live means this placement is still available. We are also hiring for multiple roles and welcome applications to be a Teaching Assistant (TA) even if this specific placement is not the right fit for you.

* Located in Warrington (WA8)
* 25 hours per week
* Key Stage 2 age
* Requires a caring teaching assistant who can support the young person with their ASC and SEND needs while in schoo;

This role will involve working with the young person at their home and various provisions, providing child-centred support focussed on engaging them and nurturing their wellbeing. It will involve travelling to the placement, supporting them, and writing a brief report to record your hours.

About our ideal Full Time Teaching Assistant (TA)

Essential

* Enhanced DBS (we can help obtain this for you)
* HLTA status
* Experience, knowledge, and understanding of safeguarding processes
* A person-centred approach in your work
* A passion for helping pupils overcome any barriers to engagement
* You must work in a way that promotes the health, safety, and wellbeing of children and young people and follow safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.

Desirable

* Experience supporting SEND in school
* You may have supported vulnerable family members or worked in care settings

At ASEND, we support SEN (Special Education Needs) / SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties) and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).

* Ex-Teacher

Other highly relevant roles from therapeutic and learning support backgrounds include:

* Learning Support Assistant (LSA) / Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
* Psychotherapist or Counsellor
* Educational Therapist
* Speech and Language Therapist
* Assistant Educational Psychologist
* Inclusion Coordinator
* Social Worker
* Care Worker
