Position Description
Position Summary
Under general supervision of an Engineering faculty member, the student performs a variety of skilled tasks for a specific class and the department.
Qualifications
* Major Preferred: Engineering
* Experience Required: Previous experience and/or specialized education in their major or specific course.
* Experience Preferred: Successfully proficient in related course material.

* Maintains a good reputation and positive working relationship with professors and other students.
* Demonstrates dependability and reliability, prompt.
* Should be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
* Practices good communications skills – articulates effectively and listens attentively.
* Able to guide students through solution steps as needed and allows students to learn by discovery.
Specific For Courses With a Lab Component
* Design/Fabrication/Test of equipment for Labs or Classroom Demonstration.
Primary Duties
* Tutoring / Supplemental Instruction: Coordinate with professor the time, place and frequency of tutor sessions.
* Prepare for each tutor session by becoming familiar with and/or reviewing the statements, solutions and currently assigned homework problems.
* Assist with grading of homework, lab reports and other moderate-to-complex assignments requiring a solid knowledge of the course content.
* Maintain consistent and reliable assistance.
Secondary Duties
* Other related duties as assigned.
