ICT is part of the Council’s Customer and Digital Services Directorate.
Its primary functions are:
* to provide high quality IT systems, support and maintenance across the organisation
* to provide strategic advice and guidance to the service areas and their directorates
* to contribute to the delivery of the Council’s Digital First approach
The ICT Service consists of several functions including:
* the Service Desk
* Enterprise Systems and Data teams responsible for the development, support and maintenance of both in-house developed and 3rd party applications
* ICT Services teams delivering network, server and end user computing services
* Security and Compliance
About the job
The ICT Senior Applications Support Engineer will lead and oversee the support, maintenance of the Councils Mobile Scheduling and Working solution which supports the repairs of the Councils residential properties and buildings.
The role will ensure:
* The reliable running of the applications whilst supporting users with issues.
* Developing the applications and generating custom reports to ensure the solution meets the evolving requirements of the service.
* Ensuring that the solution is up to date and continues to be compliant with the Councils Data Protection and Security policies.
This role will also work with project teams and suppliers to deliver:
* Upgrades of the Mobile Scheduling and Working solution.
* The migration from the existing Mobile Scheduling and Working solution to a new solution.
* To work with Project teams as required as part of the Councils new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) replacement project.
What We Are Looking For From You
Lead the day-to-day maintenance and support of the Housing Repairs Mobile Working and Scheduling Solution.
Lead and co-ordinate the upgrade of the applications within the Housing Repairs Mobile Working and Scheduling Solution.
Ensure that all applications supported by this role adhere to corporate compliance and security standards.
Manage test environments, data, and configurations to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Provide best practice advice and support for Cardiff Council ICT and Information Governance Processes.
Work with suppliers to ensure Applications are supported to the highest possible level.
Work with customers to identify and implement improvements and enhancements to existing solutions.
Engage with 3rd party projects to provide technical and procedural advice and support.
Build strong working relationships with service areas to ensure solutions meet business needs.
