Join to apply for the Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist NDT role at East London NHS Foundation Trust ELFT. The post is in the South Bedfordshire CAMHS Neurodevelopmental Team (NDT). The post is 8 PA substantive; a fixed term contract will also be considered. NDT is a longstanding service for the assessment and treatment of young people up to 18 years, and their families and carers living in South Bedfordshire.

Responsibilities
* Provide psychiatric assessment and treatment where appropriate
* Provide senior clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team
* Offer consultation to other professionals and agencies
* Facilitate the development of the team and wider service
* Work with local managers and professional colleagues in the efficient running of the service
* Adhere to the agreed policies of the East London CAMHS and the Trust

Person specification
Education
* Full GMC registration
* MRCPsych parts 1 and 2 or equivalent
* Eligibility for inclusion on the Specialist Register or CCT in appropriate specialty or within 6 months
* Section 12 approved and Approved Clinician status or willing to apply for approval
Desirable criteria
* Higher academic degree
Experience
* Possesses an extensive range of clinical knowledge and excellent clinical skills
* Experience of assessment and management of CYP with complex mental health disorders
Knowledge and skills
* Concerned to maintain and develop knowledge
* Displays sound professional judgement
* Exercises sound clinical risk management
* Sees patients within a holistic context
* Creative in designing and implementing treatment programmes
* Appreciation of transcultural and gender issues in psychiatry
* Appreciation of evidence based practice
* Able to balance competing demands and prioritise
Desirable criteria
* Higher training in a specific psychotherapeutic treatment or modality such as Family Therapy, CBT, individual or group psychotherapy
Teaching
* Experience of teaching in small groups and lecturing
* Commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, academic and clinical
Management / Audit
* Enthusiastic and organised approach to audit and quality assurance
* Ability to operate effectively in a committee
Desirable criteria
* Training in management skills
* Experience of management of a clinical area
* Experience of service development
Research
* Experience in a research project
* Publication accepted by peer reviewed journals in a relevant field
Travel requirements
* Ability to travel to other venues in the community including patients homes
* Driving license
