About the role:
The successful candidate will proactively assist the Strategic Events Project Officer with the planning, coordination and delivery of three Major Events. Working closely with internal teams, partners and external stakeholders, the postholder will help ensure the high impact events are delivered efficiently, maximising the benefits to Powys communities. The Major Events align with Powys County Council’s economic goals, in
which the postholder will play a key role in helping to deliver Powys County Council’s Economic Strategy.
You will ensure that the strategic events outcomes align to Sustainable Powys principles covering the five core areas for service delivery.
About you:
You will have:
• Experience in supporting the delivery of projects or programmes.
• Experience of monitoring projects and programmes.
• The ability to set priorities and manage the progress of your own work and competing demands including time pressures and deadlines.
• The ability to work as part of a team.
• An understanding of grant funding programmes.
• Knowledge of financial processes and procedures in the public sector.
What you will do:
• Support the financial management, administration, and monitoring of budgets, projects, programmes, and initiatives.
• Support effective communication with stakeholders via a variety of means including website, social media, and newsletters.
• Monitor and report on the progress of economic development projects activities in accordance with local, regional, and national timelines.
• Maintain and update a range of electronic/manual information systems and assist with the collation of any performance indicators and statistical returns.
• Deal efficiently and effectively with customer and stakeholder enquiries and prepare appropriate responses within required timescales.
• Support the organisation and administration of project meetings and events.
