EVENTS & BOOKINGS COORDINATOR - REFECTORY YORK
Reports to: General Manager | Location: Northern Monk Refectory York | Pay: £13.60 an hour | Hours: 37.5 per week | Closing date: 6th of October 2025
THE ROLE
Our newest venue, Northern Monk Refectory York is looking for an experienced, customer focussed Events and Bookings Coordinator to join our opening team!
We’re looking for someone who is highly organised, creative and passionate about hospitality. If you love bringing people together, have a knack for detail, and share our enthusiasm for craft beer and community, we’d love to hear from you.
You’ll bring fresh and exciting event ideas to the venue, take ownership of all enquiries, bookings and events, and work closely with the senior management team to ensure that our community and customers have consistent, delightful experiences.You’ll play a large role in curating our events calendar and building lasting relationships with other businesses who embody our values.
Previous experience in a management role within the hospitality industry is preferred, but applicants with other relevant experience will be considered, and full training will be given.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Respond to all event and booking enquiries in a timely, professional manner, ensuring every guest has a great experience.
* Ensure all event details are communicated clearly and in advance to the team.
* Work closely with FOH and BOH teams to deliver seamless events, from small group dinners to large functions, beer tastings to paired dinner menus and more.
* Take ownership of event setup and be the main point of contact for guests on the day when required.
* Assist with service, both behind the bar and on the floor, during events, and other key shifts.
* Manage invoicing, deposits, and payment tracking, ensuring clarity on payment terms and chasing late payments when needed.
* Proactively promote the venue for events and private hire, reaching out to new audiences and local communities.
* Support the marketing team in creating engaging content to promote events, tastings, and special occasions.
* Build strong relationships with suppliers, local businesses, and community partners to strengthen our network.
* Assist with cross-venue or collaborative events where relevant.
* Keep the events calendar full of exciting, relevant, and well-executed activity.
* Ensure the venue is always presented to a high standard for viewings and events.
* Provide regular updates to the General Manager and contribute ideas to improve the guest experience.
