Homeless Prevention Coordinator
Location: Coventry
Salary: £17-18 per hour Umbrella DOE
Contract: Full-time, Temporary to Permanent
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Homeless Prevention Coordinator to lead a dedicated team supporting young people aged 18-24 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. This role is central to ensuring high-quality, coordinated support and effective prevention of youth homelessness through assessment, mediation, and partnership working.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and support the Homeless Prevention Team to deliver effective housing advice, prevention, and relief duties.
* Oversee comprehensive assessments of housing and support needs to prevent homelessness where safe to do so.
* Develop and monitor Personal Housing Plans, ensuring young people engage with agreed actions.
* Undertake investigations into housing and personal history on behalf of the local authority, including eligibility and priority need assessments.
* Build strong partnerships with local authorities, statutory services, and voluntary agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
* Lead case reviews, audits, and monitoring to ensure compliance with housing legislation and performance targets.
* Support staff development, ensuring high-quality service delivery and adherence to safeguarding procedures.
* Contribute to service design and improvement to meet the evolving needs of young people.
About You
* Experience managing or supervising staff in a housing, homelessness, or youth support setting.
* Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation and prevention duties.
* Excellent partnership working and communication skills.
* The ability to manage complex cases with professionalism and empathy.
* Commitment to promoting independence and positive outcomes for young people.
