Are you looking for an opportunity to take the lead on an exciting new area of Dietetics? Are you seeking a role where you can make a significant impact on the nutrition of future generations within ABUHB?

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Dietitian to oversee the development and delivery of the Early Years Dietetic services as part of the Healthy Weight Healthy Gwent programme.

The post holder will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including health visitors, Flying Start officers, pre-school workers, nursery settings, and local authority childcare providers.

The role involves liaising with statutory and voluntary organizations to promote Early Years Nutrition Skills For Life training, ensuring accessible nutrition information and training, identifying areas for improvement, and addressing barriers to training.

They will also facilitate ongoing education and development for dietitians, support staff, and students within their team.

This position is based at Ty Gwent in Cwmbran but covers the entire ABUHB area.

Main duties of the job

Shape and deliver the Early Years Healthy Eating agenda across Gwent.

Develop effective partnerships with external stakeholders involved in early years settings.

Expand the Healthy Early Years Nutrition offer across Gwent.

Create and support integrated early years nutrition training and support packages, placing Nutrition at the core of future service development.

Provide clinical and professional leadership in early years nutrition across Gwent.

Advise, guide, and mentor dietitians and other professionals in the field.

Maintain high standards of clinical and professional practice.

Manage projects, including financial reporting, monitoring, and evaluation.

Proficiency in Welsh is desirable; applications from English and Welsh speakers are welcome.

Skills

Excellent organizational skills

Supervisory skills in challenging circumstances, including supporting staff or students with additional needs

Experience

Providing clinical supervision

Community-based service delivery

Supporting service improvement projects

Appraisal and development review experience

Working with voluntary, community, and public sector stakeholders

Qualifications

Dietetic Clinical Educators Course

Leadership qualification or Masters in leadership

HCPC registration

Advanced Educators Course

Masters in a specialist area

Training in motivational interviewing/behavior change

Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This role is subject to a DBS check, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.

Salary: £46,840 to £53,602 per annum, pro-rata.
