Deputy Sister / Charge Nurse

The closing date is 06 August 2025

If you have an interest in Women's Health, are flexible and self-motivated, then we would like to hear from you. A Band 6 Deputy Sister post has become available in our busy diagnostic suite and outpatient departments. If you want to work within a supportive and challenging environment assisting the doctors to provide care for women with a wide range of gynecological conditions, then this could be the position for you.

You will be expected to work as part of a team to assist the doctors with diagnostic procedures and facilitate the efficient running of clinics. You will be required to assist in the running of specialised clinics such as our 2-week wait hysteroscopy, vulval and pelvic mass clinics, colposcopy clinics supporting clinicians in treatments following abnormal smears, and our general gynaecology clinics including urogynaecology and endometriosis clinics. This role covers a wide variety of services within women's health. You will be part of the nursing team supporting the department sister in the running of the unit. You will assist in maintaining the patient environment in terms of cleanliness, tidiness, auditing, and the restocking and ordering of supplies. You will also support our pre-op assessment nurses in carrying out assessments on patients scheduled for hysteroscopy under general anaesthetic.

Main duties of the job

This post is for 37.5 hours per week with clinics running Monday to Sunday. Usual working hours are 8am - 6pm. Depending on clinic availability, activities may also occur on bank holidays. The post holder will need to be flexible, as days of work will be scheduled based on service needs. Previous gynecological experience would be advantageous; however, training will be provided to the successful candidate.

Please include a detailed paragraph in your supporting information explaining why you are interested in this position.
