Job Overview
This role supports a woman with cerebral palsy and epilepsy. The candidate must be a woman. A valid UK driving licence is required. The position is live-in 1 week out of every 4 weeks, with additional hours possibly available when needed. Pay is £12.21 per hour. Salary starts 7th April, continuing at least through the 21st April onwards.
Responsibilities
Daily personal care and assistance with:
* Medication prompting and administration
* Personal grooming
* Eating and drinking assistance
* Moving and handling
* Clinical tasks
* Administration and use of Word/Excel for household and employer paperwork
* Housekeeping, cooking and cleaning
* Shopping
* Transportation to and from college and medical appointments
* Companionship and social activities, including church visits (presence only, not participation)
* Swimming accompaniment
* Gardening and cat care (emptying litter tray, feeding cats)
* Chest physiotherapy exercises and use of Aerobika Breathing Aid (training provided)
* Suprapubic catheter care (training provided)
* Transportation to and from college twice weekly, with assistance while there
* Other relevant duties as required
Each day includes a 2-hour unpaid break in the morning (excluding handover days).

Successful applicants will be either directly engaged or employed by the individual employer, not by Independent Lives. The position may be offered on an employed or self‑employed basis, depending on suitability and agreement. If employed, holiday pay and an employment contract will be issued.
