Early Years Room Leaders required for a large friendly Nursery in Gosport. The Nursery can take up to 145 Children from 6 months to 5 years. The Room Leader position is an exciting role for someone who is passionate about childcare and working with a team to ensure the delivery of high-quality early years education. We can also offer Full time or part time hours. Part time hours being 7am to 1pm or 1pm to 6pm. Salary Information Room Leader £14.32 per hour Approx. £29,786 per annum (40 hours) Approx. £18,616 - £22,339 per annum (25-30 hours) Job Purpose To lead the day-to-day operation of a designated nursery room, ensuring the delivery of high-quality early years education and care in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The Room Leader is responsible for ensuring a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that supports children's development, while providing effective leadership and support to colleagues and maintaining compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and statutory requirements. Leadership and Team Management Lead, support, and motivate staff within the room to maintain high standards of care and education. Organise staff deployment effectively to meet statutory ratios and operational needs. Support the induction, supervision, and ongoing development of staff, including identifying training needs (in partnership with the Nursery Manager). Promote effective communication, teamwork, and a positive working culture. Act as a role model, demonstrating professionalism and best practice at all times. Essential Qualifications and Experience A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (as defined by the Department for Education and meeting EYFS requirements) Experience working in an early years setting Knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures Awareness of inclusive practice and SEND support Desirable Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role Additional training in safeguarding, SEND, or early years leadership For further information or an informal chat please contact Katie on 01189 485555 Thank you!
