There are occasional opportunities to support events at external venues.\n\nWorking hours per week: Monday-Friday 09.00-17.00, although the post-holder will be required to occasionally work flexibly in accordance with the needs of the role\n\nWhat might a day in this role look like?\n\nWe are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team, providing administrative support to staff and members of the RCN.\nSupporting the knowledge and research team, you will be the first point of contact for our team ensuring members can get the most from the services we offer, including library services, and help to run our programme of events. \nAs well as studying for your SVQ in Business Administration SCQF Level 6, you will gain great administrative, customer service, and event experience whilst working with RCN Scotland. \nYou will provide a range of administrative support for the delivery of an excellent service to RCN members, who are nurses, nursing support workers and nursing students. This includes: \n\nâ¢\tProvide customer service to RCN members as a first point of contact for the team, including supporting us to deliver virtual and in-person services and answering routine enquiries\nâ¢\tSupport virtual events taking place on a variety of digital platforms and events taking place in workplaces, universities and at RCN Scotland HQ including booking arrangements, communicating with delegates, and assisting during events\nâ¢\tProvide administrative support for events including preparing and circulating papers; booking rooms and equipment; ordering catering, and providing relevant support at selected events\nâ¢\tAssist with ordering and maintaining publications and materials stock\nâ¢\tProvide customer service to members using the Learning Hub library resources\nâ¢\tAssist in answering telephone enquiries\nâ¢\tEnsure e-mail, postal and telephone requests are processed in a timely and effective manner \nâ¢\tUpdate records to support our services\n What will I learn?\n\nâ¢\tSVQ in Business Administration SCQF Level 6\nâ¢\tCustomer service and events experience\nâ¢\tCommunication, teamwork, problem solving, business administration skills, accommodation and travel booking\n\n What qualifications/skills are required?\n\nYou will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels through telephone, email, and face-to-face. Being able to use Microsoft Office applications is essential. With the ability to prioritise a busy and varied workload, coordinating a number of tasks simultaneously, you will demonstrate a commitment to delivering a high quality service. Working as part of a team, you will bring initiative and adaptability to this role\n\nâ¢\tEducated to National 5/GCSE level or equivalent with good standards of literacy and numeracy \nâ¢\tAbility to adapt, plan and reprioritise to respond to urgent needs\nâ¢\tGood prioritising and planning skills to ensure that tight deadlines are achieved under pressure\nâ¢\tAbility to maintain a high level of attention to detail & accuracy whilst working within tight timescales\nâ¢\tGood time management skills and an ability to work to deadlines\nâ¢\tAbility to use Microsoft Office Packages including Word, Excel, email, internet and diary software to an intermediate level\nâ¢\tDemonstrates a commitment to delivering excellent customer experience\nâ¢\tFor this role you must be eligible to participate in the government supported SVQ qualification in Business Administration SCQF Level 6.
