Job Purpose
Banijay UK is expanding its in-house post‑production capabilities through the newly formed department named B Post - supporting productions across a range of labels across the UK.
As Senior Edit Support you will support the Head of Technical Operations in all technical operations of post‑production in your region, ensuring seamless delivery, workflow efficiency, and technical excellence.
This role is crucial in supporting the post team, production staff and editors, adhering to assigned post‑production workflows, and ensuring seamless media handling across offline and finishing stages. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation in Avid Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve, and industry‑standard file formats, along with a proactive, problem‑solving mindset.
Duties
Conform, Online and Mastering
* Conform sequences from offline to online resolutions within Avid Media Composer & DaVinci Resolve.
* Prep and conform sequences for grading, ensuring correct XML/AAF relinking and media pipeline integrity.
* Create and check AS‑11 DPP, ProRes and other broadcast master files, ensuring compliance with broadcast standards.
* Perform quality control (QC) checks on final deliverables, identifying and flagging potential audio, video, or metadata issues.
Media Management & Ingest
* Ingest, organise, and manage rushes and project assets for editorial workflows. • Link, transcode, and consolidate media to Avid Nexis via Avid Media Composer, ensuring correct codec, resolution, and metadata handling.
* Perform multicam grouping and syncing of footage when required.
* Maintain a clean and structured Avid project workflow, including consistent bin organisation and metadata tracking.
* Complete all production and post rushes ingest logs and key paperwork.
Edit Suite and Production Support
* Provide technical and operational support to editors, directors, and production teams in multiple Avid suites.
* Troubleshoot and resolve Avid Media Composer software/hardware issues, liaising with engineering and IT teams when necessary.
* Assist with offline‑to‑online handovers, ensuring smooth transitions between editorial, grading, and finishing stages.
File Management, Storage and Delivery
* Manage project backups and archive/restore media as needed.
* Upload and transfer files.
* Ensure data integrity, redundancy, and efficient storage management across projects.
Technical Knowledge and Workflow Optimisation
* Maintain a strong understanding of HD/UHD, SDR/HDR workflows, codecs, colour spaces, LUTs, and frame rate conversions.
* Identify and implement workflow efficiencies for faster turnaround times in post‑production.
* Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in Avid, DaVinci Resolve, and transcoding software.
* Collaborate with other Technical Leads across the UK (London, Glasgow, and beyond) to align workflows and maximise Banijay’s shared resources.
* Participate in UK‑wide post‑production meetings, ensuring technical operations in your region align with broader company goals.
Knowledge & Skills
* Organised, confident communicator, able to work to deadlines.
* Strong understanding of post‑production workflows for offline and finishing, QC processes, and digital media management.
* Proficiency in industry‑standard tools, including: • Avid Media Composer • DaVinci Resolve • ProTools
* Ability to adhere to complex, fast‑paced workflows while troubleshooting technical issues efficiently.
* Experience in broadcast delivery specifications, including AS‑11 DPP Mastering and QC standards.
* Familiarity with AAF, XML, EDL workflows, and cross‑software interoperability.
* Knowledge of archiving, nearline storage systems, and media asset management.
* A detail‑oriented, proactive approach with excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and contribute to the wider Banijay UK success.
* Experience with HDR workflows, Dolby Vision metadata handling, or IMF packaging is desirable but not essential.
* Understanding of audio deliverables, including stems, M&E mixes, and loudness compliance is desirable but not essential.
