Responsibilities

* Use your market knowledge and, working closely with stakeholders, shape, build, maintain and deliver the overall Category Strategy for Technology, including developing a prioritised set of procurement opportunities agreed with stakeholders which bring sustainable benefits for Hiscox.
* Be a trusted advisor to Chief Technology Officer level stakeholders by helping to shape their strategy through your market insight.
* Deliver end-to-end commercial, contractual and relationship lifecycle value, ensuring that you: develop optimum routes to market based on market developments and business requirements; develop clear service specifications that enable the best service provision fit; ensure supplier commitments align with ESG objectives; ensure proposals demonstrate compliance to applicable laws and regulations.
* Support the Software or Technology Professional Services Category Leads in delivering their Category Plans and support Category Analysts in their development as applicable.
* Manage assigned projects and sub-category areas, continually reviewing the efficacy, efficiency and security of current supply arrangements, ensuring contracts remain in force, are effective and up to date with market trends, price and service competitiveness and regulatory change.
* Understand how innovation is changing assigned sub-category areas, form relationships with potential suppliers to exploit market developments quickly.
* Identify, manage and mitigate commercial and supply chain risk, ensuring due diligence is completed with appropriate evidence and stored post contract signature.
* Be Hiscox’s lead negotiator in developing commercial opportunities for projects and sub-categories, with the ability to draft contracts and schedules using approved templates and clauses.
* Share category knowledge with Vendor Managers to facilitate effective value planning.

Can you use market and Technology expertise to construct the best possible commercial deals? Do you enjoy hands-on involvement across a broad range of categories and the full procurement lifecycle?

Our Technology Sourcing team leads the sourcing of Hiscox’s major new technology capabilities and strategic contracts. You will become a trusted advisor within the Technology community as we develop game-changing projects for Hiscox, showcasing agility, flexibility, intellect and commercial ability while developing category strategies to support Hiscox work.


Skills/Capabilities

* Demonstrable stakeholder management ability up to Executive level to deliver effective category strategies that are collaborative and drive innovation.
* Strong experience in third-party contractual work with the ability to lead initiatives to improve value within assigned Category areas.
* Expert Technology Category management skills, particularly in Software, with experience in developing meaningful Category Strategies and knowledge of Software and/or Technology Professional Services, ideally in a Global context.
* Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of developing and executing negotiation strategies with selling capability, including in monopolistic market conditions.
* Understanding of the Customer Journey in Financial Services and how to continually improve service as a differentiator.
* Strong knowledge of commercial models and techniques to achieve best-in-class sourcing deals.
* Strong relationship management and networking skills for stakeholder and supplier engagement.
* Strong contract drafting skills with ability to create related Schedules of legal Agreements.
* Self-motivated, energetic, able to deliver at pace and drive change with an agile mindset to support the broader IT category.
* Strong organisational and project management skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience using S2P systems is an advantage.
* Professional qualification (CIPS).
