We are seeking a Senior Associate Civil Engineer to join our Water Consultancy Division in Manchester and Liverpool. The role involves working on diverse water and wastewater projects across the UK and internationally, from feasibility studies to detailed design, construction support, and commissioning.
Overview of the Role
We cover a wide range of design projects, including:
* Water treatment
* Water distribution
* Wastewater recycling
* Industrial process water
* Desalination
* Irrigation
* Hydropower
* Flood defence
This position offers the opportunity to work on high‑impact projects for major UK water utilities and other governmental and private organisations.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
* Lead engineering design and/or multi‑disciplinary design teams on water or wastewater projects.
* Ensure compliance with contract requirements and industry regulations.
* Produce concept, preliminary, and detailed design documents.
* Interface and liaise with clients, contractors and other stakeholders.
* Provide technical direction, mentoring, and support to junior staff.
* Integrate civil design with other disciplines and manage design quality.
* Build strong client relationships to enhance reputation and secure future work.
Candidate Specification
Essential
* Civil Engineering degree or equivalent.
* Chartered ICE or equivalent.
* Experience leading engineering design or multidisciplinary teams on water/wastewater projects.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Commitment to health, safety and environmental issues.
* Proactive, adaptable and able to work in a changing environment.
Desirable
* Strong digital capability (e.g. Civil 3D, GIS, pipeline hydraulics).
* Experience contributing to low‑carbon solutions.
