Domestic Abuse Refuge Manager

Salary: £30,800 per annum
Hours of work: Full-time, Permanent
In partnership with a highly respected charity, I am recruiting for Refuge Manager for a 24-hour domestic abuse refuge in Leicester. This essential service provides safety, stability, and hope to women and children escaping domestic violence.

Key duties and responsibilities:
* Lead and manage staff rotas, performance, and professional development
* Oversee budgets and financial processes
* Recruit, train, and support staff members
* Assist residents with housing and benefit applications
* Maintain accurate records and use internal systems effectively
* Represent the service through presentations and stakeholder engagement
* Build strong partnerships with local authorities, community groups, and other organisations

* A relevant qualification or equivalent experience supporting vulnerable groups (women, children, survivors of domestic abuse)
* At least 3 years' experience in a care or social welfare setting
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Fluency in English plus one main BAME language
* Flexibility to work unsociable hours when required
* Strong administrative and organisational skills
* Ability to interpret and counsel effectively
* Understanding of multi‑agency working across statutory and voluntary sectors
* Full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle, and business insurance
* A clear Enhanced DBS check
