MEICA Process Engineer Job Description
A respected specialist Civil Engineering contractor is seeking a skilled MEICA Process Engineer to support the design, development, and delivery of major clean water schemes. This role involves integrating process design with mechanical and electrical systems to ensure the delivery of technically sound and compliant water treatment solutions. The company's expertise spans sectors including water and wastewater, infrastructure, and coastal protection.
Based in Hampshire, the successful candidate will be part of a collaborative project delivery team, leading process design activities and working closely with mechanical, electrical, commercial, and construction teams. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex, regulated projects and to innovate in sustainable water engineering.
Responsibilities
1. Lead and contribute to the design and optimisation of clean water treatment processes, ensuring compliance with industry and client standards.
2. Develop integrated MEICA designs and specifications, coordinating with mechanical, electrical, and process teams.
3. Support procurement activities, including technical evaluation of suppliers and subcontractors.
4. Review design buildability, assess cost implications, and provide technical input during tendering, construction, and commissioning phases.
5. Participate in safety reviews (HAZOP, ALM) and ensure risks are identified and mitigated.
6. Act as a key technical interface for clients, stakeholders, and delivery teams, ensuring effective communication across all project phases.
Requirements
* Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering or a related discipline.
* Proven experience in process engineering for clean water treatment or similar infrastructure projects.
* Experience with Civil Engineering projects.
* Strong understanding of MEICA interfaces, water treatment processes, and relevant industry standards (e.g., DWI, EA).
* Experience with process/MEP integration in project delivery environments.
* Familiarity with safety processes such as HAZOP, ALM, and CDM.
* Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Navisworks, Infraworks, ReCap Pro, and cloud-based CDEs like BIM 360.

* Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 depending on experience
