We are recruiting a Trainee Payroll Specialist (part time) to join our central payroll team. Overview
The Trainee Payroll Specialist will learn and support the day-to-day processing of the XPO payroll service, ensuring delivery is accurate, efficient and timely, with a focus on excellent customer service. The role helps ensure all employees are paid accurately and on time. This is a part-time position (19 hours per week).
Responsibilities
* Manually entering payroll information into the ADP Global View payroll system.
* Editing and loading spreadsheets.
* Maintaining employee data, including absence records and entitlements; ensuring accurate calculations for statutory payments.
* Dealing with pay queries in a timely manner.
* Updating payroll records (P45, starter declarations, tax, NIC data and other changes).
* Completing payroll reports for record keeping and managerial review.
* Pension adjustments/report reconciliation.
* Updating the ticketing system.
* Building and maintaining good relationships with allocated sites, including occasional site visits to support payroll issues.
What you need to succeed at XPO
* Essential: Previous experience in an office-based role, using computer systems and Microsoft Office packages.

* Essential: Excellent communication and numerical skills.
* Essential: Good problem solver.
* Essential: Ability to work well in a team and independently.
* Essential: Strong expertise with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
* Desirable: Some payroll or finance experience is advantageous.

Pay, benefits and more
Salary up to £12,350 per annum for 19 hours per week. Benefits include 25 days of holiday (plus bank holidays) pro rata, the option to buy additional days, high street discounts, access to XPO University, cycle-to-work scheme, workplace pension, and more.
