Overview
The Environment Agency is seeking two Benefits and Efficiencies Analysts to join the Transformation Portfolio Management Office (PMO) within the Strategy, Transformation and Assurance (STA) directorate. The PMO focuses on creating a centralised portfolio that drives change, transformation, and continuous improvement. You will analyse data from PMO colleagues and project/programme managers across the portfolio, help set standards for benefits and value management, embed them, and assist teams to identify, value, and validate project benefits. This is a hands-on opportunity with development opportunities and strong peer support.
The team supports change, transformation and continuous improvement across the business, and STA fosters inclusive, supportive cultures and uses evidence and innovation to influence policy and delivery.
Responsibilities
* Analyse data from PMO colleagues and project/programme managers across the portfolio.
* Help set standards for benefits and value management and embed them within the organisation.
* Identify, value and validate project benefits to support decision-making and risk management across change and transformation.
* Contribute to the centralised portfolio to drive change and continuous improvement.
Experience and Qualifications
* Strong analytical skills with proven experience as a Benefits Analyst, Efficiencies Analyst, or Business Analyst.
* Proven experience in building and maintaining dashboards or reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel).
* Ability to work collaboratively across organisational boundaries and build constructive relationships.
* Clear communication skills to explain complex analysis to non-technical audiences.
* Self-motivation, adaptability, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Experience producing guidance, toolkits or frameworks to support colleagues.
* Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and actively consider diversity in work.
* Development opportunities and appropriate training will be provided.
Additional Information
* You’ll have an inclusive incident management objective in your development plan. Training will be provided. The role is national with a hybrid working location; the EA base is in England. Some travel and overnight stays may be required.
