Job Summary
The pre-sales engineer will support the sales teams and the reseller channel by providing product advice and training, advice on licencing and technical queries and talking to / visiting end-users of larger organisations in order to facilitate product sales. They are expected to be product experts with a strong knowledge in IT systems and the threat landscape. Their role is more encompassing than simply technical support and although not a sales person they will have a bearing on the sales into larger enterprise customers.
Functional Responsibilities and Duties (English - Mandatory)
1. Support the sales team in handling more technical enquiries from larger end-user customers
2. Discussing technical aspects of the products with end-users
3. Train resellers and Eset staff on products and their application
4. Be a central source of knowledge for the sales and marketing teams on all aspects of the product, it’s licencing and impact / integration in broader IT systems
5. Be an Eset evangelist both at end-user meetings and events
6. Keep up-to-date on industry knowledge and news on a technical basis
7. Assist and develop onsite or remote PoC’s, Demos and customer engagement.
8. Participate in sales strategy planning, customer design, technical evaluations and sales calls.
9. Provide technical sales advice to the internal and external sales teams on specific enquiries
10. Undertake product training sessions for Eset staff
11. Undertake product and technical training sessions for resellers and their staff (time required away)
12. Undertake web demonstrations to key customers and resellers
13. Undertake onsite demonstrations to prospective customers and resellers (time required away)
14. Attend exhibitions and conferences to provide technical product advice (time required away)
15. Prepare and undertake monthly product webinars to the reseller channel and end-users
16. Manage KPI’s and personal goals
Experience
17. Previous experience providing technical support to both end-users and resellers
18. Experience with security software and their application within an IT environment
19. Working knowledge of IT infrastructures using a wide range of OS
20. Previous experience delivering training
21. Previous experience in presenting IT products
22. Project management experience
Knowledge
23. In-depth knowledge of the security software industry and Eset competitors
24. Complete ESET product knowledge
25. Good knowledge of Linux OS
Language
English C2 - Proficient
Personal characteristics
26. Able to present confidently to senior IT staff specialising in IT Security (CISO level)
27. Able to relate security issues to business concerns and match to a product solution
28. Enterprise network knowledge essential
29. An understanding of encryption technologies
30. An understanding of server infrastructure and domain configuration
31. Extensive knowledge of current Windows server and desktop operating systems
