Fairhurst is seeking a Senior or Principal Drainage, Water & Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing team in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity to work across major infrastructure, master planning, and renewable energy projects while developing project and client management experience.
About the Role
You’ll contribute to the delivery of high‑quality engineering solutions across a wide range of projects, supporting sustainable development and innovative design. You’ll also have the opportunity to grow into team leadership or specialist roles as your career progresses.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Deliver drainage, water and infrastructure designs using Civils 3D, MicroDrainage, Causeway Flow and/or InfoDrainage
* Work across diverse project types including major infrastructure, masterplans, and renewables
* Support project planning, coordination, and client engagement
* Attend site visits and meetings (driving licence required)
* Collaborate within a multidisciplinary environment and help mentor junior engineers
What We’re Looking For
* Principal level: Chartered with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE)..
* Senior level: Near Professional Review with ICE and working toward chartership within 12–18 months
* Strong design experience in drainage, water or infrastructure projects
* Excellent communication, problem‑solving skills, initiative, and accountability
* Organised, adaptable, collaborative, and committed to delivering great client service
* Commercial experience, including project management and bid preparation
* Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams
* Desirable to have experience in: Local Authority, SEPA and DMRB guidance and standards.
