Location: Battlesbury Barracks, Warminster BA12 8NJ. 37.5 hours per week. 5 out of 7 with 1 weekend in 4 (Early shift 6.00 – 15.00, 1 hour break; Late shift 10.00 – 19.00, 1 hour break). Salary: £12.71 per hour.
What You’ll Do
* Control rostering and work details within the resources of the Mess to ensure all tasks are completed to the client’s satisfaction.
* Be responsible for welfare and discipline of staff according to company procedure and as approved by the Site Services Manager.
* Ensure conduct within the Mess is professional at all times.
* Maintain the staff training programme as directed, checking for competency after training (in-process checks).
* Ensure dress standards are met, including rules of jewellery; staff shall be in uniform and well presented at all times.
* Ensure that all staff adhere to COSHH regulations.
* Monitor cleaning cupboards for correct presentation and safe practice.
* Maintain custody of quarterly checks of service equipment reporting deficiencies to the Site Services Manager (SSM).
* Maintain all company documentation accurately, including training record cards.
* Meet all deadlines set by the Site Services Manager.
* Maintain administration for personnel (timebook, timesheets, absence monitoring).
* Assist mess manager with EprophIT as required.
* Communicate instructions to staff as directed with SSM.
* Issue and account for stock, including ordering and stock taking.
* Weekly monitoring and verification of in-process checks, supervisor checks, and cleaning schedules.
* Daily monitoring of the team and their output to ensure tasks are completed to a high standard.
* Ensure all staff are competent in the execution of their tasks.
* Monitor and verify correct use, storage and control of machinery, cleaning materials and chemicals in accordance with regulations.
* Communicate concerns of service delivery to the SSM.
* Maintain cleaning cupboards in compliance with COSHH regulations; monitor health and safety compliance and quality standards.
* Monitor and verify that cleaning standards meet client and company expectations; take immediate corrective action when required.
* Maintain the company Quality Control Procedures and develop your own skills within the scope of this position.
What You Bring
* Experience in a similar role with knowledge of catering operations and some supervisory or team leadership experience.
* Experience in hospitality (hotel, bar, or restaurant) is a plus.
* Strong customer service and communication skills.
* Ability to motivate and lead a team effectively.
* Comfort with working at a fast pace and adapting to changing situations.
* A collaborative mindset and the ability to communicate well with senior management.
