This is a term-time, part-time post. The salary will be pro-rata'd to the hours worked.
Work Pattern: Thursday and Friday, 2.30pm - 5.30pm.
West Dunbartonshire Council is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and skilled Early Learning Childcare Officer for our Linnvale Early Learning and Childcare Centre.
The role involves supporting the development of an Out of School Care team/service, ensuring the delivery of a flexible, high-quality out of school care service that meets the needs of children and their families.
The post holder will assist the Senior Early Learning and Childcare Officer (Out of School Care) in maintaining quality provision, supporting best practices, and implementing improvements to ensure positive outcomes for children.
The Early Learning and Childcare Service provides childcare for children aged 3-5 and out of school services for primary-aged children.
Applicants should have experience working with pre-five children in a relevant setting and possess knowledge of the Curriculum of Excellence (early level) and pre-birth to three-year-old guidance. Flexibility and adaptability are essential qualities.
Candidates must hold the NNEB (or modular equivalent), HNC in Childhood Practice, SVQ2 in Social Services (Children and Young People), or SVQ3 in Social Services (Children and Young People). If not already registered with SSSC as practitioners, successful candidates will be required to register within 3 months of appointment.
Requirements
This position is a Regulated Role with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020. Membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details are available here.
Preferred applicants will need to join the relevant PVG scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check before a formal offer is made.
Responsibilities
The employment is excepted from section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants are required to disclose all convictions, including spent ones, as failure to do so could lead to dismissal or disciplinary action.
