We are currently working with a leading specialist contractor within the fire protection sector who are seeking an experienced Fire Suppression Engineer to join their growing service and commissioning team.
This is a highly varied role, covering planned preventative maintenance (PPM), servicing, remedial works, fault finding, and commissioning across a wide range of fixed gaseous fire suppression and water mist systems. You will be working as part of a highly experienced engineering team, receiving ongoing training and development with clear opportunities for career progression.
The Role:
Carrying out PPM servicing on fixed fire suppression and water mist systems
Completing commissioning works on newly installed systems
Servicing and maintaining gaseous suppression systems (mechanical)
Electrical fault finding and interfacing with fire alarm panels (advantageous)
Identifying defects and deficiencies, producing clear remedial recommendations
Completing remedial works and reactive call-outs
Carrying out room integrity testing
Ensuring compliance with relevant British Standards and client requirements
Achieving agreed response times and service targets
Completing accurate service documentation and reports
Travelling to pre-booked appointments across the UK, with occasional European travel
Systems You Will Work On:
Fire Alarm Systems:
Honeywell, Notifier, Gent, Kentec, Fireclass, Advanced
Gaseous Suppression & Water Mist Systems:
Fire Eater, JCI, Kidde, Danfoss, VID Firekill
Requirements:
Strong understanding of BS5839-1, BS7273, BS6266, BS EN 15004
CSCS or ECS card
Full, clean UK driving licence (essential)
Proven experience servicing and maintaining fire suppression systems (essential)
Experience working with CO₂, FM200, FK-5-1-12 (Novec 1230), IG-01, IG-55, IG-100 & IG-541 systems
Experience working on low and high-pressure water mist systems (advantageous)
Confident carrying out commissioning and room integrity testing
Ability to work independently and problem-solve effectively
Flexible approach to working hours and travel
Strong communication and customer-facing skills
