Housing Support Officer
- The Role:
We're looking for a dedicated Housing Support Officer to join our team, providing person-centred support to residents living in CBC-managed properties. You'll play a vital role in helping individuals sustain their tenancies, maintain their wellbeing, and feel connected to their community.
The role of the Housing Support Officer is to provide a person-centred approach to support older and vulnerable residents living within CBH properties, enabling them to maintain their tenancies, their independence and their health and wellbeing. This will be delivered through regular contact, support and referrals to relevant internal colleagues and external agencies.
The Housing Support Officer is responsible for managing the day to day running of the Independent Living Schemes in line with health and safety legislation, policies, procedures and safeguarding, signposting to appropriate professionals.

- Key Responsibilities:
- Build trusted relationships through regular wellbeing checks and support planning
- Coordinate referrals to internal teams and external agencies, ensuring residents receive the right help at the right time
- Manage the day-to-day running of Independent Living Schemes, ensuring compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, and organisational standards
- Support residents with practical tasks such as accessing housing applications, attending viewings, reporting repairs, etc
- Promote social inclusion through coffee mornings, community events, partnership working, etc
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring all resident interactions, support needs, and scheme updates are logged appropriately
Housing Support Officer
- You:
- Access to transport to travel in between schemes when needed
- A clear understanding of and commitment to customer care, equal opportunities, confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Knowledge of experience of Health and Safety legislation with regards to procedures and working practices
- Understanding of safeguarding vulnerable adults and children
- Knowledge of other statutory services including social services, mental health services, NHS services for older people, fire service and other support agencies
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
