You will be working within the Economic Development and Programmes Team, responsible for the effective delivery of key economic and sustainability programmes, including Economic Growth, Healthy Communities, Climate Change & Sustainability and Social & Economic Inclusion. The team focuses on business support, regeneration schemes, town centre development, visitor economy promotion, health, sustainability, climate change policy and strategy, and programme management of external funding.
The Council has been awarded £20m over 10 years from Government to invest in the communities of Grassmoor, Holmewood, North Wingfield and Tupton, known as Three Pits Pride in Place. The Pride in Place Programme Manager will lead the successful implementation and delivery of the programme, including the production of the Neighbourhood Plan, ongoing support to the Neighbourhood Board, associated workstream groups and overall responsibility for programme and project delivery. This is a fixed‑term contract with potential for further extension, subject to funding and confirmation of the accountable body in 2029.
Responsibilities
Lead programme planning, delivery and monitoring activities across the Pride in Place Programme.
Develop and maintain effective programme administrative systems.
Engage with multi‑agency partners, community groups and elected members.
Ensure financial management and reporting are accurate and timely.
Qualifications
* Experience of managing similar programmes, including project delivery and financial management.
* Experience of multi‑agency, partnership and community working, including with elected members.
* Experience of developing and implementing effective programme administrative systems.
The post is office based at District Council Offices, Mill Lane, Wingerworth, with potential for hybrid working subject to operational requirements. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are required, as attendance at partner meetings across the region may be needed.
