FLT Operative
Location: Mildenhall, Suffolk
Pay: £12.21 - £13.00 per hour
Contract: Temp-to-Perm (12-week trial period)
Immediate Start Available
We are looking for a reliable FLT Operative to join a busy and well-established company in Mildenhall.
You'll be responsible for preparing, moving, and maintaining equipment safely and efficiently. A valid FLT (Counterbalance) licence and full UK driving licence are required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare equipment for hire, ensuring high levels of maintenance and readiness.
* Operate counterbalance or multi-directional forklifts to load/unload vehicles, move, prepare, and store equipment (FLT licenses are highly advantageous).
* Accurately pick, return, and scan equipment, identifying stock overages or shortages.
* Safely load and unload equipment, ensuring proper handling and storage.
* Clean equipment using a pressure washer.
* Inspect, service, and repair hire equipment and depot assets in line with company standards.
* Utilize pneumatic/electrical hand tools (full in-house training provided).
* Maintain up-to-date and accurate service/inspection records.
* Occasionally drive the depot van as required.
The Ideal Candidate:
* A valid, full, clean driving licence
* A valid FLT (counterbalance) licences
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately complete records and paperwork.
* Familiarity with the construction, housing, or civil engineering industry is advantageous.
* Proficient in using scanners, PDAs, tablets, and computers.
* A reasonable level of fitness is required.
* Knowledge of the shoring or hire industry is a plus.
