Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer with proven expertise in Cisco networking technologies and hands-on experience implementing Cisco ThousandEyes. This is a key role supporting a complex enterprise network environment, working closely with cross-functional teams including Unified Communications (UC), Security, and Infrastructure.
This is a 6-month contract role, based onsite in London 3 days per week, with a daily rate of £400 (Inside IR35).
Key Responsibilities:
* Architect and implement Cisco ThousandEyes monitoring and visibility solutions.
* Manage and support a robust enterprise network with a strong focus on routing, switching, and wireless (Cisco WiFi).
* Provide support for network-related aspects of Microsoft Teams and Cisco telephony systems, including QoS tuning and circuit capacity planning.
* Work collaboratively with the UC team to troubleshoot and resolve voice/video network performance issues.
* Administer and support Cisco and Checkpoint firewalls, including firewall policy management.
* Support network automation initiatives using tools such as Ansible.
* Participate in the design and delivery of Cisco SD-WAN, SD-Access, Catalyst Center, and ISE projects.
* Provide advanced support for network diagnostics, monitoring, and analytics tools.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in a Network Engineer role with core competencies in Routing & Switching.
* Strong knowledge of networking protocols such as QoS, BGP, OSPF, HSRP, IPSEC, 802.11, 802.1x.
* Hands-on experience implementing and managing Cisco ThousandEyes.
* Solid experience with Cisco technologies: switches, routers, wireless, Catalyst Center, ISE, and firewalls.
* Experience working with Cisco and Checkpoint firewalls.
* Strong understanding of network monitoring, diagnostics, and troubleshooting tools.
* Exposure to or experience with Cisco SD-WAN, SD-Access, and automation/configuration tools such as Ansible.
* Knowledge of network firewall policy administration is a plus.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications:
* Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
* Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP or equivalent are preferred.
