Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for food preparation in a school kitchen environment. This role requires a strong understanding of food safety practices and a commitment to delivering high-quality and nutritional food, that meet our standards. Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and menu specifications.
* Ensure that all food is prepared in compliance with food safety standards and regulations.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
* Manage other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow during service times.
* Monitor stock, place orders and complete company bookwork.
* Help with menu planning and development by providing input on new dishes or improvements.
* Adhere to health and safety guidelines at all times while working in the kitchen.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar role would be advantageous but not essential.
* Strong knowledge of meal preparation techniques and food safety practices.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
* This role is school term time only - Monday to Friday.
